Right in the centre of Aberlour village next to the banks of the Lour Burn the Aberlour distillery sits. In Gaelic, Aberlour means “Mouth of the chattering burn”.
Sadly in 1898 most of the Aberlour distillery was destroyed by a fire, however this led to the distillery being rebuilt and improvements made in the 1920s, after the second World War, the 1960s and also during the 1970s.
The Aberlour distillery has a visitor centre which is available by appointment only.
