An enigmatic and sought after bottling from arguably the most iconic of the lost distilleries. Bottled after 20 years, with almost the same again in the bottle, this is a bit of history that is ready to be enjoyed.
On the nose, very definite notes of peat and coastal sea air with a hint of tobacco and even cacao. On the mouth, again a peaty smokiness dominates, as it should, but with tastes of tar, licorice and citrus.
Overall, as with the great Port Ellen, you taste the salty sea air, and the peaty notes of a classic Islay malt.
